The measure will provide relief to nearly two million Americans who have to pay on average $572 a year out-of-pocket for insulin according to an analysis of 2020 of the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF).
The insulin cap has been included as part of Inflation Reduction Act, Democrats famous climate change legislation and health care legislation that Vice President Biden approved in the month of August the same year.
"Because of this historic law beginning on January 1, Americans will start to recognize the benefits of the additional cost-saving measures contained in the Inflation Reduction Act," the president stated in a statement issued in late December , on White House's official website.
